Makayla is a 17-year-old writer who enjoys all things books, food, animals, nature, rivaling everyday societal expectations, and traveling. She originally started writing seriously in the summer of 2018 due to a house fire that destroyed her childhood home. Through writing, the help of her grandparents, a lake in the shape of a crescent moon, and many many books, Makayla relearned who she was as a writer. Her dreams include traveling, writing more books, helping to inspire people, and having a job and family that she loves. Her after high school plans are traveling for a year around Europe and then coming back to the USA to major in English and minor in social work.
