Author Info

Alexys grew up in a small town in East Texas. As she grows up, she starts to question things regarding church, Jesus, and life. When she begins to process, Alexys finds solace in writing poetry to God. As she writes, she talks to God. Every time she reads a poem out loud, she starts to feel the Holy Spirit and hear the wisdom He speaks.

Throughout middle school, she was challenged with self-image. In high school, Alexys battled trying to find a place to stand out, as fitting in was never a part of her heart. She was the one most leaned on, until college when everything that was hurting was now exposed through more and more encounters with Jesus.

The simple Southern baptist theology was no longer enough, and the questions she had about God while battling depression and anxiety were now being answered through healing from heartbreak, comparison, and bitterness.

Through writing this book, Alexys was able to overcome the pressures of perfection, feel freedom in asking questions, and fall more in love with Jesus than ever before.
