Shireen Irvine Perry has taught blind and visually impaired adults Needle Arts for over 36 years. Many of her students from the greater San Francisco Bay Area and beyond asked her to write a book. Because she believes vision loss does not keep a person from enjoying hands-on creativity. She encourages her students to ask themselves, "How can I make this work safely?" instead of, "I can't do this because I can't see."
Besides teaching, color and textiles makes Shireen happy while learning and doing her own needle arts projects. She also enjoys having cups of tea while catching up with friends or exploring inspiring places.
