Author Info

Sixty-four years in 4 paragraphs! Born 1956 in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland and currently residing in Teaneck, New Jersey, the United States since 2004 repairing and selling motorcycle while pursuing my literary aspirations.

After technical school, I trained as a vehicle mechanic and welder.  Once qualified I traveled around the country’s largest building projects as a welder/fitter.  During the building slump of 1981, I joined the Irish National Railways as a maintenance fitter and in 1987 I resigned from my commission and traveled to Ethiopia to work as a volunteer with Irish Concern addressing famine relief.

Since then I have worked as a humanitarian logistician in the Developing World in Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and three and a have years in Yugoslavia.  It was during these long evenings that I honed my writing skills, eventually self-published three books and penned several full manuscripts as yet unpublished.  Over the years I have written countless articles on various platforms, most dealing with the personal aspects of working in the Developing World and more recently, motorcycling. The last major article being in the January 2020 edition of the prodigious BMW ON magazine.

Writing is my passion, which will not be dampened.  In pursuit of a promotional platform to reach a large audience, with the ultimate desire to achieve the best sellers list. Check me out at http://maurice.ie and do support me by snatching a copy of whatever takes your fancy.  Ultimately, your support is what keeps me going.
