Kay(la) is a first-time author, blogger, and former Pre-K teacher. She was born and raised in Virginia where she currently resides. She holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. Kayla employs digital media platforms to showcase her work as a photographer and broadly address themes of travel, black womanhood, loss, love and more.
She says,
“In twenty-seven years, I have been many things including a daughter, a sister, a teacher, a student, a friend, an artist, an avid traveler, and so much more. I have always coveted the title of author and it is one of my proudest accomplishments to now add that to my list. Sure, there are millions of books and thousands of authors out there, but none who can tell my story quite like I can.”
