Author Info

Jared Gollob is a physician-scientist who grew up in New Jersey and was educated at Columbia University, where Mozart’s famed librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte became its first professor of Italian in 1825 after 2 grocery stores that he started in New Jersey failed. His New Jersey-Columbia connection to Da Ponte, and being born one day after Mozart on January 28th, instilled in him a lifelong passion for Mozart and his music. He acquired his interest in historical fiction from his father, Herman Gollob, an accomplished editor whose authors of epic novels included James Clavell, Leon Uris, Gary Jennings and Alex Haley. His father’s love of Shakespeare also contributed to his interest in historical drama, with modern influences including Arthur Miller, Robert Bolt, Peter Shaffer and Ruth Wolff. While he has authored numerous scientific papers over the past 30 years in his career in medical research and drug development, All the Scattered Pages is his first play. An amateur classical and jazz pianist, guitarist and songwriter, he resides in Newton, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
