Author Info

Hugh Pixler is a retired civil rights and employment law attorney. He has always loved western stories, whether in books, on television or at the movies. His great joy in writing The Fourth Gun trilogy has been in researching to get the broad nineteenth century factual background correct and overlaying that history with the adventure stories contained in the three books.

These are westerns in the traditional sense, and taken together, offer a story of ten years of friendship, struggle, heartache and growth among the three young protagonists. These characters share the struggle of intrusive memories of the depredations of war. They understand each other. And when they are confronted with personal battles, they know they can rely on each other, especially when the shooting starts.

Hugh lives with his wife Deborah, and two cats, Jimmy and Gracie, in the foothills above Boulder, Colorado.
