Louis Ronald Scatena and his family live in Arizona. For the past 54 years, he continues to work as a professional engineer after graduating from The University Of Detroit Engineering School in 1967. As a structural engineer, during his experience over time with 3 large companies, he has designed college buildings, electrical generating stations, high voltage transmission lines, and large water treatment plants. He also served as a Quality Control Facilitator and Technical Consultant to the CEO for the large electric utility. On occasion, he has published technical articles for engineering magazines about some of those challenging projects. But in November of 2020, he also published “ANTHRACITE BOOT CAMP”, which is a non-fiction story about his childhood working with his Father in and around coal mines near Pittston, Pennsylvania. His experience at the mines occurred when he was at ages 8 to 17, from 1950 to 1959, before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959.
