Chuck Hendee, after selling his successful manufacturing company in 2006 and retiring in 2012, has dedicated his second half to mentoring, coaching, and serving his community.

His recently published book Purpose: A Journey from Breakdown to Breakthrough chronicles his journey through a midlife crisis and ultimately into redemption and an abundance beyond restoration. He attributes the Grace of God and angels in the form of family, friends, and even strangers who guided him into a new spiritual awareness.

The book is a guide to finding your purpose and mapping out your journey in life with that vision. Chuck describes how he and his father built a successful manufacturing company, taking it from a start-up to 150 employees and $20M in revenues. Along the way the very attributes that led to success, taken to excess brought him to the brink of failure in a midlife crisis gone bad. Not to worry, the mistress was a boat.

Chuck quotes his church's associate pastor, “How do we know the mercy of God if we do not need mercy?” Yet giving in is not giving up. Embracing the help and support, that Chuck considers God’s angels, led to a business revitalization, emotional peace, and spiritual awakening.

Chuck and his wife just celebrated their fiftieth anniversary. He is 72 and has given up most of the weekend warrior adventure, and now dedicates his life to service to his church, community, and entrepreneurs of all ages. He has been a mentor with the Wolfe Center for Entrepreneurship since the late 1990’s, is an elder in his church, and provides business coaching on incentive systems.
