Description

Why do bad things happen to good people? Clyde and Becky had what some might call the "perfect life." They had success in family, careers, business, and hobbies. They lived their lives following God at every step, even to the point of switching careers at the height of their successes to become a pastor and pastor's wife. Everything was "perfect." Then the dreaded word was said, "Cancer." Follow the true story of Pastor Clyde and Becky as they experience the work of God in real time, both in the struggle and in the triumph. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. It's how God shows up in the midst of the battle that you'll find is most important.

About the author

Clyde Teel is the Senior Pastor of Community Reformed Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He and wife Becky began their pastorship in 1999, following Clyde's teaching career. They felt the call to ministry in the early '80s, but the young couple with two little girls, Liz and Abbie, decided to wait until the girls were out of school to begin church ministry. In 1996, they moved from their hometown of Burke, SD to Sioux Falls, where Clyde attended North American Baptist Seminary from 1996-1999. Following graduation, Clyde and Becky were called to Community where their passion for sharing Jesus saw its impact. Community has more than quadrupled in size over the course of 20 years. Clyde says the goal has always been to show people that God is "bigger than your circumstances" and to do this you have to focus on Him and the power of the Holy Spirit. With their focus on Jesus, their impact has not only been wide, but deep. As you will see in his first book, The Story of One Word, Clyde and Becky lived out this passion. Clyde's deep desire is to continue to share Jesus with the world.
