About The Author


Sylvio (Syd) A. Gravel, M.O.M., a former police officer, with over 30 years' experience in the Ottawa Police Service, managed an international award-winning diversity change project, which received the 2007 International Association of Chiefs of Police Civil Rights Award. For 10 years, Syd was the officer-in-charge of managing recruiting and training for the Ottawa Police Service. He is passionate about managing change through diversity. Based on his experience, he learned hard-earned tips and techniques to help organizations and businesses become more viable economically and gain the competitive edge. He leads diversity project managers from panicked to passionate to success because he has walked the talk in an organization entrenched in 150 years of tradition.
