Description

Boston seminary educated, enthusiastic, and filled with new ideas, Grace Alexander returns home to Piney Woods, Tennessee as pastor of Hopewell Church. Waiting for her is the old guard Ministerial Alliance, led by Rev. Thomas Haliburton. He has stopped every progressive move in town and he is determined to stop Grace. Grace is a woman in every sense of the word. Passionately in love with a man from the East Coast who views her time in Piney Woods as just a folly to be gotten out of her system until they begin their lives together, she discovers lots in common with one of Rev. Haliburton's lieutenants, Rev. Clyde Williams. Rev. Clyde has issues of his own. Engaged to an older woman who just happens to be Rev. Haliburton's daughter, he starts out believing that the pulpit is no place for a woman. Until he spends time with Grace. Rev. Haliburton hatches a diabolical plot to destroy Grace. After Teen Night at her church a tragedy occurs. And Grace is accused of ungodly behavior. The ensuing publicity triggers her congregation to schedule a recall vote to remove Grace as pastor of Hopewell. Racing against time, she tries to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.
