Overview
THIS IS THE SEQUEL to: WHISPERS OF WINTER Jolie Johnson lives on the family farm she moved to twenty years ago when she married the love of her life. Even though Riley had been twenty-six years older than her, from the moment they met, they just knew they were meant for one another, and they had it all until a cancer diagnosis stole him from her three years ago. Jolie is now a fifty-nine-year-old Widow trying to work the farm, maintain the large farmhouse, plant her crops, and try to keep the animals in their pens. Their son Jonathan helps as much as possible while still trying to finish his agricultural college degree. Jolie struggles to get from one day to the next without her husband. She knows her; he wants her to move forward, but she finds it too difficult. Her son suddenly announces that he has bought a couple of thoroughbred horses from a man he met at the local livestock auction, and is planning on using them to run the cattle on their farm. The following morning, one of the largest aluminum horse trailers Jolie has ever seen comes pulling into her driveway. Morgan Wheeler, an ex-bull rider, crawls out of his truck and walks with a noticeable limp. A few years ago, he drew a hard ride, the meanest Braham Bull around, ACES & EIGHTS. That bull ended his career and almost his life. Following his life-threatening injuries, a nasty divorce from a two-timing wife, and being run out of town by her daddy, who is a lawyer and also the town judge, it is easy to understand why Morgan is finished with all women. He was played the fool, costing him everything he had worked and saved for. He is now happy and content just being with himself and his horses. That is until he meets Jolie Johnson. She believes in love and the value of a family and works hard every day on her farm. She believes people are generally good and kind and views the glass of life as half full. Morgan becomes captivated by her charms and falls madly, deeply, head over heels for her. He doesn

About the author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Eva Orilla is my pseudonym. It is my great-grandmother's name on my father's side. My great-great-grandfather kept a journal during the entire four years he served in the Great Civil War. Every day, he recorded what was happening around him. Today, his diary has been printed several times and used as a teaching tool in places like Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. I come from a long line of people who like to write. For most of my youth, I sat at the feet of my own grandmother, Doris, and listened as she shared the stories of her life with me. It is from her I learned to create and express myself with words, poems, and diaries. I have been journaling for over five decades and have inadvertently created a timeline of my own life: my grade school years, high school years, getting married, raising our family, buying a farm, and recording all the blessings our children and grandchildren have brought to my life. I write from my desk, the kitchen table, the garden shed, and sometimes our porch swing as I juggle family and farm, and I try to appreciate EACH DAY of this one beautiful life I have been given. I enjoy gardening, quilting, painting, genealogy research, playing my guitar, and anytime that family is near, I am in my element, happy and content. They are simply…..MY WHOLE WORLD. Thank you for buying and reading my first book, WHISPERS OF WINTER, and now the sequel, WHISPERS OF AUTUMN. Though I have written for several magazines and newspapers in the past, these are my first two novels. These stories seemed to write themselves. As if the characters sprang up from the pages all on their own, complete with personalities. It has been enjoyable to see it all unfold, to feel it in my bones, and to be able to write about it. Happy Reading. With Light and Love Eva Orilla/Sherry Haas-Shelby
