ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Eva Orilla is my pseudonym. It is my great-grandmother's name on my father's side. My great-great-grandfather kept a journal during the entire four years he served in the Great Civil War. Every day, he recorded what was happening around him. Today, his diary has been printed several times and used as a teaching tool in places like Harvard, Yale, and Stanford. I come from a long line of people who like to write.
For most of my youth, I sat at the feet of my own grandmother, Doris, and listened as she shared the stories of her life with me. It is from her I learned to create and express myself with words, poems, and diaries. I have been journaling for over five decades and have inadvertently created a timeline of my own life: my grade school years, high school years, getting married, raising our family, buying a farm, and recording all the blessings our children and grandchildren have brought to my life.
I write from my desk, the kitchen table, the garden shed, and sometimes our porch swing as I juggle family and farm, and I try to appreciate EACH DAY of this one beautiful life I have been given. I enjoy gardening, quilting, painting, genealogy research, playing my guitar, and anytime that family is near, I am in my element, happy and content. They are simply…..MY WHOLE WORLD.
Thank you for buying and reading my first book, WHISPERS OF WINTER, and now the sequel, WHISPERS OF AUTUMN.
Though I have written for several magazines and newspapers in the past, these are my first two novels. These stories seemed to write themselves. As if the characters sprang up from the pages all on their own, complete with personalities. It has been enjoyable to see it all unfold, to feel it in my bones, and to be able to write about it.
Happy Reading. With Light and Love
