Cheesette Cowan, née Stovall, is an ordained evangelist, writer, author and conference speaker committed to demonstrating the love of God to others. Passionate about the advancement of the Kingdom of God, Cheesette is committed to sharing the Word of God in a way that people can actually apply to their daily lives and win!
Through the giftings and abilities God has placed in her, Cheesette’s goal is to teach biblical truths that empower God’s people and puncture the souls of the unsaved, providing a venue through which God can glorify Himself in the lives of everyone she encounters.
Cheesette’s dedication to the Word and power of God is most evident in her own testimony. Behind her commitment to God lies a troubled past speckled with great struggle and even greater perseverance. Raised in low-income housing by her mother after her father was murdered, Cheesette has come to realize that every event in her life has meaning. It was through seemingly tragic circumstances that God revealed Himself to her and proved that His mighty hand was indeed all the while at work in and around her. Before long, those things that were once viewed as hindrances became the very foundation for her life and ministry. It was through those experiences that Cheesette discovered God’s will for her life and dedicated herself to preaching the Gospel and helping others realize their God-given destiny.
Cheesette’s story resonates with people from all walks of life. Her voice and pen boldly proclaim hope and wholeness for everyone – from the Wall Street executive to the struggling single parent. Her life experiences allow her to relate to the reality of others in a way that says, “I’ve been there. I understand; and there is a way out!”
Convinced that God has also charged her to publish the Gospel in print, Cheesette published her first edition of I AM Christian Magazine in June 2008. Nominated for a Rhythm of Gospel award for best print media in 2010, I AM Christian Magazine is Cheesette’s answer to God’s charge in Psalm 68:11: “The Lord gives the word [of power]; the women who bear and publish [the news] are a great host,” (The Amplified Bible).
Cheesette is a graduate of World Changers Bible School where she received a degree in Christian studies. She also holds a master’s degree in mass communications and journalism from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut and is a graduate of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Today, Cheesette speaks at various conferences and events about the power, love and Word of God. She also continues to publish the written Word through stories, books and articles.
Cheesette lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Carey and daughter, Aubrey.
