Overview
Inspiring and with humorous moments, "We Wait You" is the real-life story of hearts transformed after the 1989 revolutions that forever changed Eastern Europe, as told by one woman who made a difference.
Description
“We wait you. Why did you take so long?” –Taryn Hutchison was asked this poignant question after her lecture on democracy to a class in Bucharest, Romania. Communism had just fallen. “We waited forty- five years for the Americans to come and set us free. We used to say that even if you were coming in a wheelbarrow, you should be here by now.” – The Americans had come at last, but it was to offer a different kind of freedom— freedom that lasts forever. Inspiring and with humorous moments, "We Wait You: Waiting on God in Eastern Europe" is the real-life story of hearts transformed after the 1989 revolutions. Join Taryn Hutchison behind the Iron Curtain, encountering Cold War informants, Russian mafia, and persecuted believers. History and faith will come alive as you take this riveting journey with one woman who made a difference and relive the unforgettable drama of historic events that forever changed Eastern Europe—against all hope. Questions for reflection or discussion, included after each chapter, will guide you as you consider: Who waits for you?
About the author
TARYN R. HUTCHISON has published several short stories and articles, but this is her debut book. She hails from a town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with a booming population of 75 people, three million chickens, and several dogs. Taryn loves people, art, storytelling, and travel. She’s visited all 50 states, lots of countries, and every continent except Antarctica—having lived all over the U.S. and even Romania and Hungary. She prefers the real local culture to a tourist resort any day. Taryn served on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 21 years, later working at Golden Gate Seminary. She and her husband recently relocated from the bustling San Francisco Bay area to a sleepy town in western North Carolina.
