Overview
An autobiography of how a young girl growing up in a doomsday cult, with an abusive mother and very little education, came out on the other side to fulfill her dreams of traveling the world, writing, and living life without the emotional terrorism and deep depression and guilt that cults lay upon you. Seeking peace and true happiness while leaving the conditional love of religion, family, and friends behind.
Description
An autobiography of a young girl whose life was quickly turned upside down by an event that took her mother not only down a path of deep depression but right into the hold of a doomsday cult that would in the end be her mother's undoing and the undoing of her family. Living years of uncertainty inside the cult, never good enough as a daughter, wife, and sister, a series of events led her to a path that walked her right outside the doors of the cult and into a whole new world. Sadness, uncertainty, and some guilt were followed by hope, health, love, and an awareness of a whole new happy shiny world. Transitioning into a whole new life and seeing the deep scares a cult, abuse, and lies can do and how to come out of it, bent but not broken.
About the author
Angela is originally from the Deep South but has spent most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. She loves the cool summers and the wet winters of this beautiful and mysterious place. Angela's life was plagued with abuse, poverty, alcoholism, lies, a bad marriage, and a deep lack of education. She was raised in a doomsday cult that taught her that life was only as important as the prize that waited for her at the end of Armageddon. She only recently began taking college classes at Bellevue College. As well as Master Classes that helped fulfill her dream of becoming an author. She along with her husband have traveled to over 60 countries. In her adventures, she has met and come to know some of the most interesting and sometimes famous people. She loves photography, crafts, entertaining, and the joy of celebrating life, all the time. She volunteers and is an advocate for those who are mistreated both in society and in their homes. She supports 6 advocacy groups for those leaving the very doomsday cult she left. She is passionate about politics, music, and movies. Her friendships mean everything. Even if no one reads her book or books in the future, she's an author, and considering how her life was laid out, that's a pretty big and impressive accomplishment. However if someone reads it and is moved or changed by her words, then she feels honored that her journey helped someone with theirs. Her next undertaking, writing novels.
