About the author
Born in Ventura, California in the summer of 1984, Robert got his first taste of poetry from his English class in junior high. Fast forward a couple years later and Robert began to write rhymes inspired by emcees like Nas, Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, and many more. Hip Hop was his first love. Robert was in a Hip Hop group that made two albums, and Robert also made solo albums. Towards the end of his last album, Robert went back to writing poems. It all started on "National Poetry Day." Robert wrote one poem while on break at work. Like his music, the poetry is inspired by life. Robert is married to an incredible woman and together they have a 9-year-old son.
