Amira Vasileva moved to Brooklyn, NY, in 2016 from Russia with little-to-no knowledge of English. It was very challenging. Born in Voronezh, Russia, and growing up in Moscow, you don't expect the day when your world collapses on you; you don't expect that bad choices you've made in the past will catch up with you. But Amira didn't give up: no matter the constant rude comments she received from peers and even some teachers. Life never stops on that, she told herself.
Reading was (and still is) her safe place to relax, and understand that no matter what happens around her, she is not alone. Amira is sure that no one is— no matter how much we believe in loneliness. There is always someone in the world who experiences the same things you do.
Confidence is one of the things without which Amira wouldn't be the top student in her classes, shareholder, writer… but most importantly who she is right now. She believes that experience like that changes you to the core. That's why she started writing. She wants to make sure that people won't make the mistakes she did, the mistakes she saw. It's all about the experience and Amira is ready to share it in the most unusual and extraordinary way.
