Description
In 2001, The Voice of the Heart began a steady journey into the lives of those looking for more. Since its initial release, The Voice of the Heart has been handed one friend to another and has helped thousands of people begin to speak the truth of their story and to live more fully from the heart. Chip Dodd invites us to begin to know our hearts so that we better know ourselves and can live fully in relationship with others and, ultimately, with God. The journey begins with discovering the gift of The Eight Feelings™. We have eight feelings that allow us to live fully in a tragic place–hurt, lonely, sad, anger, fear, shame, guilt, and glad. By listening to these eight God-given tools, we can be who we are made to be, so we can do what we are made to do. "Chip Dodd passionately and wisely invites us to the spiritual discipline of listening to our hearts and to the call of God that echoes in every emotion." –Dan Allender, Professor of Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School, Author of The Wounded Heart, To Be Told, and Leading With a Limp. "The Bible tells us that the heart 'is the wellspring of life.' In this thoughtful book, Chip Dodd [reveals] how our spiritual heart functions and how we can discover more of the life Christ offers. I’m confident that many will find his insights helpful and even life-changing." –Franklin Graham, President, Samaritan’s Purse and Christian Evangelist.
About the author
Chip Dodd is a teacher, trainer, author, and counselor who has been working in the field of recovery and redemption for over 25 years. It is the territory in which people can return to living the way we are created to live–where we can move from survival to living, from isolation to loving, and from controlling to leading. After receiving his Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of North Texas, he founded a Sage Hill Recovery center in Nashville, TN, The Center for Professional Excellence (CPE)–dedicated to helping people be who they are made to be, so they can do what they are made to do. Chip developed a way of seeing and expressing one's internal experience called the Spiritual Root System™. It expresses in detail the essential makeup of the human being–feelings, needs, desire, longings, and hope. When we reawaken to this essential makeup, we are oxygenated and hydrated with the energy of living fully. We are created as emotional and spiritual creatures, created to do one thing–live fully.
