About the author
Melanie Calitri Holden is the mother of the three amazing children that readers meet in her books, The Seasoned Soul; Stories for Inspired Living (released in September 2012) and The Ultimate Wish Book for Grown-ups: How to Use the Magic of Santa to Create Your Dreams (published in 2004). Through witnessing the adventures of her children, Melanie has gained insights into her own life’s journey — in her careers as a physical therapist and a writer, as well as the journey of her own soul to live its purpose on Earth.
Melanie comes from a long line of accomplished writers. Her grandfather, Antonio Calitri, wrote novels and rich poetry for the Italian-American community of the 1920’s and 30’s. Her Uncle, Charles Calitri, was known for the New York Times #1 bestseller, "Strike Heaven on the Face," and her father, Joe Calitri, was a talented journalist and speech writer. But the person who had the most influence on Melanie’s writing style was her mother, Drusilla. “In her handwritten letters to me, my mother’s thoughtful and vivid portrayals of daily life always gave me a sense of being intimately connected to the rhythms of home, even when I lived far away,” says Melanie.
Melanie writes a regular column in the Merrimack Journal, a literary magazine, and offers programs and workshops to help individuals reconnect with the spirit of youth for a healthier and happier life. She is a frequent guest on radio and television and hosted her own show on VoiceAmerica. Melanie is the owner of Physica Center for Healing and Education.
