The Paladin is a very emotional story about high school sweethearts, who reconnect at their twenty-year reunion. Twenty-years earlier, he was a high school basketball star, and she was a cheerleader and an athlete. They seemed to be heading in the same direction: a local college. But after graduation, they went their separate ways and lost contact with each other for two decades. Now they have returned with all of their friends, for one special night. A night filled with hugs and high-fives, but also lots of questions. Be sure to have some tissues handy as tears are sure to flow during some intense moments. There is no doubt this story will leave you wondering if fate really exists. Can two people find the magical connection that they once shared? Can a high school basketball star return to the court he once dominated and make everything right? If you decide to find out, you'll be glad you did and you will also receive a bonus story: The Counselor. Another heartwarming story about a magical connection between two people.
THE PALADIN placed in the top 100 of 2010 Lorian Hemingway Short Story Contest. And THE COUNSELOR placed in the top 100 of the 2011 Lorian Hemingway Short Story Contest.
