Overview

Three characters in a science fiction novel are forced to fight for their fictional lives. Their adversary? A crafty villain whose jerry-rigged weapon allows him to reconfigure the storyline to create mayhem in their world.

Description
"The Page Skipper" is a meta-fantasy about Will, Skylar, and Alto, three friends whose actions are frozen mid-story because the Reader set the book aside. Without a storyline to play out, they're protagonists without a purpose. But only till they meet Skip, a villain who moves backward through the pages. Using a weapon that can reposition and even add words, he revises key passages to reverse his fate. After escaping from several bizarre predicaments, our heroes turn to the elements of the printed page to save themselves.
About the author

A writer from the Advertising world, Mike's mind is in a constant state of motion. "The Page Skipper" is where it went in the middle of the night, when a vivid dream sent him scrambling to his keyboard.

Uniquely original! "A very creative concept and uniquely original. I think it's the first short story I ever read where the characters in the story literally jump off the page!" Read more

Delightful! Highly recommended! A delightful short story, entertainingly full of clever and unexpected ideas. Suitable for both adults and kids, the premise of this tale would make for an interesting animated series. It’s refreshing to see new ideas on the printed page at play. I hope the author continues to write more stories in this vein. Read more

The Page Skipper Very interesting and enjoyable examination of timing in plot, word playfulness and character quirkiness that works as a children’s fantasy, a young adult’s book and even a lark for adults. It cleverly examines the unexpected way words can be used to turn narrative on its head. I cannot imagine a true reader not liking this book. I recommend it highly. Read more

Great @#$%^! Story I used to joke about writers telling jokes to other writers. "So, a comma and an apostrophe walk into a bar...." The Page Skipper takes that concept and runs with it. Mr Abadi has created a wonderfully funny and imaginative world between the pages that blurs the line between fiction and reality. Highly recommended. Read more

Great concept and very entertaining! Highly recommend! This book perfectly nails a fun and unique concept with some really clever wordplay sprinkled throughout the book. The Page Skipper imagines the interactions of the characters in between the pages of a story, once the reader puts down the book. There’s plenty of humor, tension and comradery between the characters to keep you engaged from the first chapter. It was fun to meet all the characters and become immersed in a world that flips traditional literary devices on their head. I couldn’t put down the book once I got pulled into the story. Would absolutely recommend it to anybody that is looking for an entertaining read!! Read more

So fun to read and truly original! The Page Skipper is incredibly fun, quirky, and readable. Very “meta” and unlike anything I’ve read. I’d especially recommend it to any fervent book-lover or anyone else who appreciates clever, outside-the-box storytelling. Read more
