Overview
The "Nha Trang Letters" is a piece of history taken from the actual letters sent home from a soldier to his family during his military experiences and his tour of duty in Vietnam. Together with the personal letters are many nostalgic and compelling pictures, as well as numerous literary vignettes, which complete the work and transport a reader back into the turbulent times of the Vietnam War and a society divided among themselves.
Description
While "The Nha Trang Letters" is the story of a soldier who was stationed on an army airbase in the Central Highlands of South Vietnam, it is not that different in some experiences and quite the same in many others to those of the hundreds of thousands of young men who were drafted into a war not of their choosing and sent to fight half a world away. Through the actual letters of the time, numerous literary vignettes, and an abundance of photos, we are able to share a soldier's personal story and his life, and reflect upon that divisive era of our nation's history -- the war in Vietnam.
