The Natural Beauty of Brooklyn

When you think of Brooklyn you probably think of it as the world capital of hip, with its bars, restaurants, stores and bridges. You think of the hustle and bustle of people, traffic and construction 24/7. Do you ever imagine that there's another side to Brooklyn that lives just around the corner from the busy crowded streets? There is! One with beautiful homes on tree lined streets, with flowers, fish, turtles, cats and birds also calling it home. There's Brighton Beach and Coney Island with the beautiful Atlantic ocean and gorgeous sunsets, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden with magnificent old trees, tulips, roses and egrets at the Lilly Pond. There's Sheepshead Bay in Prospect Park inhabited by graceful geese, swans and ducks. These photos will bring you joy, happiness and inspiration.

Miranda's interest in photography began at the age of 14 when she took her first photography class at Dalton high school in New York City and developed her own black-and-white photos in the dark room. At the age of 17 she volunteered at the International Center of Photography (ICP) which was located on the Upper East side of Manhattan and her passion for photography grew. Since moving to Brooklyn 35 years ago she has delighted in sharing her favorite nature photos of Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Prospect Park,Sheepshead Bay and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden with her friends and family via text and Instagram. This is her first professional book.
