Overview
Richard Landry, suspected of heisting a fortune during a daring and puzzling (to authorities) airplane robbery, has led a determined police detective on an eight-year chase that starts in Ottawa, Canada and ends in Brazil. Landry is also the only suspect in the grisly murder of an undercover female Brinks Security agent, who was also his lover. Filled with great characters and a solid plot, this book will take you on an emotional and visceral ride. Written while he was in prison, Paddy Mitchell uses his sense of humor, combined with his knowledge of criminal and law enforcement minds, to craft a tale that could easily be described as the "heist of a lifetime" by the "master of the heist."

About the author
Patrick Michael "Paddy" Mitchell (26 June 1942 - 14 January 2007) of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, was the leader of the notorious "Stopwatch Gang" of bank robbers. He was regarded as North America's most famous, most successful, and especially most likable bank robbery of his time. Mitchell was on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's most wanted list (just below Bin Laden) for the Stopwatch Gang's bank robberies across the U.S. Working with fellow Canadians Stephen Reid and Lionel Wright, Mitchell stole approximately $15 million—mainly in the 1970s and 1980s—from more than 140 banks and other sites across Canada and the U.S. He escaped from prison three times, and moved to the Philippines for 15 years. During that time, he often flew back to the U.S. to "visit" banks. Finally, in 1994, he was convicted for a solo robbery in Mississippi and put in prison for the last time to serve a 65-year sentence. Paddy Mitchell was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006 and died in the Federal Medical Centre in Butner, N.C. in the prison hospital at age 64, but his memory endures through a plethora of stories and movie plots that he wrote before his death.
