The Forests of Mars is a continuation of the Colony Ship Series, and picks up where it left off. This book delves more into the inner workings of the Colony Ship Asgard, and the many lifeforms contained within it. This book explores personal relationships between the main characters and their continuing discoveries of new things. This book introduces conflicts between the people of Asgard, and members of some of the Earth explorers who encounter them. The two primary characters introduced in the first book who were of Earth and native to Asgard end up having twin children who are hybrids of their two species. The members of Asgard are mostly Telepathic and Healers as well. Examples of their talents are demonstrated in the story. The book explores the possibilty of another way of life, much more fulfilling than the current one.

The Forests of Mars explores the possible origins of many of Earth's mythological characters, and introduces other possible explanations for their origins. This book tries to put a positive outlook on what might happen if the people of Earth do encounter Aliens from an advanced type of civilization when exploring the outer reaches of Space. Humanity would possibly become extinct if they remain on planet Earth. Survival of the species requires dispersion to other planets to preserve Humanity. Terraforming another planet could improve Humanity's chance of survival as well as providing more opportunities for future expansion and Human development.
