Overview

Do you feel challenged by the problems you face? Are you afraid of what your future might hold? Are you ready to start learning some powerful thinking skills that schools don't yet teach? If so, reading this book will help you more easily solve whatever real-life problems you now face. You can use your improved problem-solving skills to gain a competitive advantage in the workplace, to reach higher levels of success in your chosen field, to improve your relationships, to raise children who are better prepared for their future, and to create valuable innovations. Yes, these are bold claims. Yet in the words of a highly respected critic (J. Baldwin), this book “live[s] up to its pretentious [sub]title,” which is “A Complete Course in the Art of Creating Solutions to Problems of Any Kind.” Published around the world in 9 languages, the printed editions have helped — and inspired — tens of thousands of readers. The new more-affordable ebook edition is now available to quickly download to your tablet or ebook reader. This heavy-duty toolbox is packed with 79 powerful techniques that will lighten your heavy load, bring greater joy into your life, and transform vulnerability into empowerment. More than two hundred diverse real-life examples throughout the book clearly demonstrate how to apply the tools in this toolbox. These examples include behind-the-scene stories about well-known innovations such as the typewriter and basketball, and the examples cover a diversity of situations including solving business problems, raising children, improving relationships, looking for employment, inventing, and solving global problems. Are we living during challenging times, or exciting times? The choice is yours. Reading this book — and making use of the practical tools it contains — will shift you away from unnecessary suffering, and help you (and those who are close to you) reach greater excitement, opportunities, and rewards.

Description

Most creative-problem-solving books basically demonstrate cutesy mind tricks, or focus on areas such as entertainment and furniture design where simply being different is a marketing advantage, or waste your time with examples that involve artificial games and puzzles. Instead, this book takes you far beyond what those introductory books only begin to teach. P.S. If you would rather cling to the problems you face than part with a few declining-in-value dollars, then you might be interested in reading the author's less-expensive ebook titled “Ending the Hidden Unfairness in U.S. Elections.” The last chapter of that book explains how the United States — or any nation — can dramatically increase its economic prosperity. Those solutions were developed while the author was writing “The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox” because he wanted to be sure that the techniques in this toolbox were powerful enough to create solutions to the world's biggest problems.

About the author

Richard Fobes (Fobes rhymes with robes) taught “Creative Problem Solving Skills” workshops, and wrote a “Creative Problem Solving Tips” column (for the American Creativity Association's newsletter) that became the book titled “23 Creative Problem Solving Tips,” and wrote an online booklet titled “Hope for the Future.” The material explained in these books he learned outside of classrooms, beginning in childhood. The author earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and studied atmospheric science as a graduate student. He has worked as a writer, consultant, software developer, inventor, electronics technician, hardware store clerk (in his father's hardware store), and dance instructor. While writing this book the author realized that the root of the world's biggest problems is that all democracies currently use voting methods that are quite primitive. He used the skills explained in this book to create VoteFair ranking, which fully — and correctly — ranks all the candidates in an election. Then he wrote “Ending The Hidden Unfairness In U.S. Elections: Let's Use VoteFair Ranking To Restore Democracy And Stop The Excessive Influence Of Campaign Contributions,” which is now available as an ebook. The last chapter of that book explains the political reforms that will follow the adoption of VoteFair ranking, and why those reforms will lead to widespread and dramatic increases in economic prosperity.
