Overview
The Bluest of Days is a tribute to anyone who's lost a loved one at an age where they couldn't fully understand what losing someone meant. This book assists those tough conversations with children and inspires acceptance. Hopefully it will be healing to the bluest of days every family reading will face.
Description
After a curious little girl loses her best friend, Joel, she is filled with questions as she runs around looking for answers. Joel's passing is something she doesn't understand at the beginning of the book but as it continues, she learns to accept. This book is aimed to help young children during the grieving process and to let them know, "It's ok to be sad," as my much younger cousin, Celeste said to me as we both mourned a recent and unexpected loss in the family.
About the author
Delilah Aguilar is a 16-year-old girl from southern CA. Although her first published book will target a young audience, she enjoys writing novels and poetry. Writing has been a part of her life from a fairly young age considering her handwriting was so dreadful in elementary school, teachers gave her extra writing assignments to help her mobility. Coincidentally, it only enabled her love for stories and self-expression through literature.
