After she is gifted a Barbie doll by a missionary, Amara is able to live through the doll and envision a world where she feels beautiful. She engages in frequent daydreaming that begins to impact other areas of her life. As a result, Amara stops living in the present, preferring to live in her dreams. However, an unforeseen tragedy changed the turn of events which brought back Amara to reality , in turn, cutting short that fantasizing world. It is not until Amara comes across Dr. Chioma that she ventures into a captivating journey of self-discovery, transformation, and self-acceptance to find contentment with her true self. By the end of the tale, Amara no longer dreams of being beautiful, but believes she is.
