by Rita K. Tinetti

Overview

Story of a Church is a new photo history of the famous National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica. The book brings alive in both photos and text the background and symbolism of the historic structure. With over 165 vintage and contemporary photos in vivid color and black and white, it conveys all the rich detail designed into the church once referred to as "a sermon in stone." The book is a "treasure of intimate details concerning the history behind the planning, the design, the construction, and the architecture of this exquisite site" wrote Msgr. About the author

When Monsignor William Easton decided Shrine needed a new and updated souvenir book, he recruited Rita Tinetti who had served as the "unofficial official" photographer for the National Shrine of the Little Flower parish for many years, covering many historic moments including the visit of Saint Therese' relics and the dedication as a National Shrine.
