Earlier, in 1995, de Muynck co-founded the Kairo's Institute of Sound Healing, and co-developed the Acutonics® sound healing system and co-authored the textbook, There's No Place Like Ohm: Sound Healing, Oriental Medicine and the Cosmic Mysteries. In addition, she co-developed a healing treatment called Harmonic Attunement® which incorporates the use of cosmically tuned symphonic gongs, tuning forks, didgeridoos, rattles, Tibetan bowls and bells. Marjorie de Muynck also studied Huichol Shamanism with Brant Secunda and was very interested in the indigenous use of sound for healing. A graduate of the ISIS School of Massage in 1983, de Muynck was a part of an early movement of professionals who helped to create certification standards for Massage Practitioners. A prodigious student, practitioner and instructor of alternative healing modalities, de Muynck attended and graduated from the Seattle Shiatsu Institute (1983-1986) and studied Oriental Medicine for over twenty five years. She taught Shiatsu, Hara Diagnosis, Kundalini Yoga, Reiki and Sound Healing at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for six years. In 1983, de Muynck started an On-Site Shiatsu business for King County and the City of Seattle, which she owned and operated for seventeen years.
