Soldier Boy Hanigan

Soldier Boy Hanigan is a military brat on a mission to grow up and either farm in Illinois or join the choir in a French Cathedral. Mostly he longs for distance between himself and his father and for any world outside the fences of an Air Force Base. A story of race relations in the military of the sixties, Soldier Boy Hanigan touches on complex issues through the eyes of a child.

Growing up in Illinois and dreaming of driving a tractor some day, seven year old Soldier Boy's world changes when his father is reassigned to an Air Force Base forty miles northwest of Paris, France.
