About The Author

BIO: Brett Nichols is a retired twenty-six-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Police Department. The town was crazy with cocaine and cartel drug wars; murders were an everyday occurrence. Then, in 1980, the county experienced deadly race riots and the Mariel boatlift. He joined the police department and worked as a patrolman for five years before transferring to the Crime Scene Investigative Bureau. He worked major cases and was the lead in over three hundred homicides. After nine years, he was approached by the Homicide Bureau Commander and asked to apply for one of their openings. He spent his last twelve years there before retiring to Fayetteville, Georgia. With vast experience gained from both bureaus, Detective Nichols sheds light on how cases are investigated and crafts intriguing stories that follow a detective methodically working the leads to solve a case.
