Overview
A Memoir about the life of Rhoda Marks Hillman with personal photographs
Description

This book was inspired by my step-daughter and dear friend, Toddy Granovsky, who suggested that having a record of my life in words and pictures would be appreciated by my loved ones. The project began with a great effort by Deborah DeNicola, a writing consultant and teacher, who visited my home weekly over three months and then edited together her notes. We then went through the stories I'd told her and composed the basic text. With additional writing and editing by my daughter Marjorie and granddaughters Corina and Ramona, the words were finalized and ready for formatting with photos. We collected images and went through old albums, and then my son David prepared the pictures and finalized the text and photos that appear in this book. Lastly, we sent out a pre-print draft to additional family members who gave us some great suggestions that were incorporated into the text. This book is clearly not a detailed biography. It is an attempt to give a glimpse of the highlights of my life and share some of my favorite pictures in that context. Not everything can be remembered or photographed; people, events and places unmentioned or unseen are no less significant in my life. I hope you'll write additional thoughts in your copy. With gratitude and love to all who helped — and all who might enjoy.
