Description
Charleston Augustus Beric III, or Trey as he's affectionately known by his family, receives a high-low hit by two defensive players in his third year in the pros that leaves him with a season ending knee injury. The knee injury was only the beginning of his troubles as his high styled wife from his college years has chosen to walk out on him now that his NFL income has been suspended. Faced with no career and living alone in a big house he could no longer afford Trey decides to return home to his parent's house in Washington, D.C. He thinks he no longer wants to play professional ball but wants instead to pursue a career in law like his younger sister Savannah has. While applying to law school Trey is befriended by an out-going bubbly young white woman Kateland Cutter who despite her good intentions seems to always be in the wrong place at the right time as Rebi Morgan Beric, Trey's estranged wife tries to rekindle their marriage. Caught up in his desire to start a new life or giving in to his passion for his wife Trey must choose which path to follow but it isn't going to be easy as like chess pieces in a game of life people with their own agendas keep interfering with his.
