Representation and Love abounds! If you want a book with: love family friends representation of Black people representation of LGBTQ+ adoption then you NEED this book. Remy is a lost little cat, who has no family. He wanders around asking his animal friends about family, and while they each have their own true definition, that doesn't exactly help Remy feel better about not having one or help him find one. Finally a woman appears, and she becomes the first step in helping Remy to find a family. Fear and worries abound, until Remy learns himself the true meaning of a family. As I said above, there is representation for so many in this book. The author did an amazing job showing how families come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. She writes an amazing book on pet adoption, but I feel it could easily relate to children as well. I can only imagine adopted children relating to Remy's feelings as he finds a family to their own stories. However, pet adoption is important as well. Giving a loving home to an animal in need, spending their days in a shelter waiting for their forever home, can be a far richer experience than the alternative. If what I've said above doesn't pull at your heartstrings to check this book out, then maybe this will. Portions of each purchase go to animal rescue organizations. Are you willing to help other Remy's of the world? Read more

Fantastic Read!! What seems like a book about rescuing a cat is filled with beautiful messages about love, family, and happiness. This is a book that can be read over and over to a child, and they will get something new out if it each time it’s read. Lovely work by the author to piece this together in an amazing way. Read more
