About the author
Usha Cervantes was born in Southern California to a Samoan mother and a Fijian Indian father. Growing up in California, her and her sisters noticed a lack of Samoan-English children's books, so she was inspired to write "Over 100 First Samoan Words" so that others could have the opportunity to explore and learn the language in ways that were never available.
Usha graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Finance and has been a Financial Advisor for over 15 years. She still lives in Southern California with her husband, Albert, their three young children (all under the age of 5.) In theory, she should be thinking about writing her next book. In reality, she is probably being recruited to building a castle out of sofa cushions or busy pretend-playing with her little ones.
