Overview
Our Market is a unique book as it looks at life and situations facing today's American society through the viewpoint of fruits and insects. Readers will see two apples, Adam and Eva, struggle to stay together from harvest day to finally making it to the market, bananas comparing each other's potassium content, and insects wandering around and observing their surroundings. Each group of fruits and insects represents different situations filled with unique opinions and are all linked with a common idea: to meet their goals despite their respective limitations. Elements like peer pressure, individuality, labor union interests, crime, chemicals on food, and growing up all add relevance to the characters, which readers will be able to relate to.

About the author
Growing up in the United States Virgin Islands, I have always enjoyed watching my mom plant and grow her garden. Like many people, she would often "talk" to the fruits and vegetables as if they were humans. Now, later in life, and working in the produce department of a large chain, I must say that fruits and vegetables do take on a personality of their own. I have been writing as a hobby for over 15 years, and the idea for this particular story came to me after the 9/11 attacks; like most of us, we can recall where we were and what we were thinking when it happened. Being in London and witnessing the coming together of the American people and its vast and diverse cultures was astonishing. With this inspiration I bring to you the story of a vast and cultured marketplace for some of the different fruits that, although were born in different areas, just like the American people, we and they all share some common dream, hope, fear, and destiny.
