After a classic car is stolen from the mother of his ex-partner, a retired LAPD detective is driven to chase a two-bit con artist through the underbelly of Los Angeles.

Meet Hardy Shuffle, a twenty-eight year-old low-class con artist who has been successfully working downtown for over six years. But when a slip of his conscience causes him to leave behind a small piece of evidence, it's just enough for retired LAPD detective Miller Bookman to give chase. What results is a pursuit of sorts through the underbelly of Los Angeles.

Born in Los Angeles, Jarrett lived his formidable years in Trout Lake, Washington, where he attended junior high and high school. In 2000 he moved back to California for college. He graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from California State University, Northridge in 2005. He studied for an M.A. in Creative Writing at California State University, Los Angeles but took a hiatus and has not yet returned. He is currently studying for a B.S. in Computer Science. For steady money, Jarrett bartends. In his free time, he likes to golf. Jarrett currently resides in Los Angeles, CA where he frequents dive bars on occasion and is always on the lookout for a good karaoke scene. He is presently working on a documentary, a flash fiction anthology, calculus and his golf swing.
