What's it like to grow up a teenage girl in today's time? The majority of young and introspective girls do not fit into easy cliques and friendships and how do you navigate the landscape of social media and the ideals of friendship? From the pressures of fitting in with friends to difficulties with ADHD, Sienna Lee captures her thoughts in real time writing from the ages of 11 to 17 from preteen to young adult discovering life's interesting and sometimes sad paradoxes and her transformation from the innocence of youth to thoughtful and nuanced young adulthood.

What's it like to grow up a teenage girl in today's time? The majority of young and introspective girls do not fit into easy cliques and friendships and how do you navigate the landscape of social media and the ideals of friendship? Very few poetry collections span the length of high school. Sienna was an eight grader when COVID lockdown the school system and so many impressionable teenagers were denied normal social interactions during this time. Also during this time frame, social media exploded even more given the at home schooling and increase in phone use during this time. The increase in screen time and the increase in anxiety has often been linked. Many young girls have expressed difficulty making good friends which has also led to increased anxiety and unhappiness. How have these young adults dealt with the normal pressures of growing up and also the social pressures and impact of both lockdowns, masks and ADHD? My Journey of Time and Space is a collection of poems that span four years of time. From the pressures of fitting in with friends to the difficulties of ADHD, Sienna Lee captures her thoughts in real time writing from the ages of 11 to 17 from preteen to young adult discovering life's interesting and sometimes sad paradoxes and her transformation from the innocence of youth to the thoughtful and nuanced young adulthood.

Sienna Lee is a teenage writer whose themes focus on the personal and societal effects of feeling different than those around her. She self describes herself as a person who needs to write and hopes her writing can bring solidarity and comfort to others who feel the same as she does. She began writing at a young age with her first unpublished novel written at the age nine. Sienna has two siblings, a sister and brother. She enjoys running, playing tennis, volunteering, and spending time with her friends and family.
