Overview
This book is a compilation of daily messages that were sent to Daniel's children to start their day. All messages are rooted in Christian values but there are reflections from other cultures, religions and philosophies. These messages are meant as a way to start your day with a thought, a gratitude or a motivation in order to move yourself forward over time. The name of the book was a description of how he would start the day with each child. Each child has their own special handshake and every morning is started with a hug and an "I Love You".

These messages started as a way to strengthen my relationship with my children. My father was a huge Zig Ziglar fan. He read all of his books and even had quotes on his office wall as well as in our house. Zig Ziglar was about positivity and he was about gaining the most from every day because every day was a great day, even the "bad" ones. This devotional book was a process for me to share what my father instilled in me as well as my journey to find more motivations to keep Joy.
My children were my motivation for this book. I look at them daily and I am amazed by their perspectives, their growth and their positivity. I wanted to connect with them daily so I reached to my experiences to give them a little nugget to start their day. Some days were just short messages while others would be longer because of what was on my heart. These messages were intended for them but they helped me as much as I hoped it helped them. They started my day off with a gratefulness that I did not have. This book was cathartic for me. Coming out of COVID, I was angry, disappointed and disillusioned. These messages brought me out of that because I was searching for positivity and it made me realize how blessed I was. These messages strengthened my prayer life and increased my reading of the Bible. It made me read everything from Confucius to Ghandi to Napoleon Hill to psychological studies. This book was for my children but a by-product has been my personal growth.
