As I reflect on many years of serving you, I am finally ready to share my reflections with you in this book of recipes. I hope that you enjoy the stories as well. I heard your requests to get copies of recipes for your favorite dishes. Unfortunately, around the same time as the Melange closure, I was beginning to compile recipes for my second cookbook. It was at that time that my world crumbled right in front of me. However, I know that "When one door closes, another always opens". I believe that is true. In this book, you will find recipes from my 18 years of service. Many of these recipes will bring wonderful memories from Melange @ Haddonfield. I will share stories that were at times funny, often sad, and of course, some that were just life's little blessings along the way. Most of all, highlighted in this book will be several recipes that I have compiled for your enjoyment. I know that some of you want to know all there is to know about what happened to Chef Joe Brown and Melange @ Haddonfield. Well, here's the story.

Melange .. the Reality I met Chef Joe Brown over 20 years ago when I had Fortune 500 Corporate Job as frequent customer at Melange Cafe… fast forward 10 years.. Chef Joe Brown became my mentor when I opened my first kitchen. Every person entering the food business should read this book. Enjoying this book It took me some searching to find the book available waiting in anticipation to receive it. I am truly enjoying this book. His open honesty of his restaurants is refreshing. My spouse and I dined at his first restaurant in Cherry Hill but did not get to Haddonfield. It is terrible how he was treated. I have my own opinions why. You can not stop greatness when your heart is good. Joes hands are kissed by God. Well done. Read more

Little did I know…. Little did I know when I came to volunteer for Chef Joe at his new home at Bethany, that I had eaten at his wonderful restaurant many years before. I can remember by girlfriend saying how “ devine” the crab cheesecake was! This book is a wonderful and different take on Chefs journey mixing his love of cooking with life’s lessons and challenges.
