The author created this project with the hope that it will give children an exciting, easy-to-read book to learn more about Marblehead. It gives both residents and visitors a chance to explore the history and best parts of their favorite places in town, all while learning the alphabet. With every page, a new, spirited rhyme and vivid illustration take readers on an educational journey that brings to life everything that makes this seaside town so unique.

Garrett is a writer, editor, and illustrator based in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He has a journalism background and has worked in feature writing, news writing, and fact-checking. Garrett grew up in Marblehead and currently lives there with his family. He created M is for Marblehead as a side project over the course of almost two years and hopes it will give children an opportunity to explore the history and traditions in town in an educational way.
