About the author
Born in Philadelphia and raised in a modest middle-class neighborhood nestled on the east side of Philadelphia known as Bridesburg. On Sunday, June 21, 1953, my life began when my mother Rose gave birth to me on a very hot, first day of summer, which fell on the cusp of the "creative" signs of Gemini and Cancer that guided my future into the creative world of storytelling. After graduating from All Saints grade school, I found myself roaming the halls of the now-closed yet spiritually still-alive all-boys high school known as "North" Catholic in Philadelphia. Although the school closed several years ago, their alumnus worldwide holds sacred the mighty Falcon mascot. Looking past high school was a stretch, with the Viet Nam war raging out of control, and the number of neighborhood guys returning from Nam in body bags mounting, it seemed that it was just a matter of time before I too would meet the Lord.
However, much to my surprise the draft lottery gods spared me from the sweet smell of napalm when I drew the number 315. Blessed with this good fortune, I was determined not to waste my life working just for a paycheck, so I worked two jobs to earn enough money to go back to school. After graduating from the American Academy of Broadcasting, I spent much of my young adult life enjoying a diverse career in broadcasting both on and off the air. It was in those early years of copywriting that I discovered a passion for storytelling.
