He was called by the U.S. government to take a job at the American Embassy in Beirut and have his family accompany him. This book shares the grippingly complex details about how the author felt about life in the Middle East as a diplomat's daughter. She shares her thoughts, emotions, and perspectives after mingling with the locals in Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Italy. Over the years, the author learned so much about herself and those around her. Although it wasn't always easy, her past taught her how to be strong.
