About the author
Thomas A. Chase grew up in New Hampshire and attended the University of New Hampshire. He flew 467 “combat support” missions in the Lockheed C-130B Hercules from 1964 to 1966, the early years of the Vietnam War. After leaving the Air Force, he was a pilot for TWA for 25 years, retiring in 1992. Tom is the author of the novel Last Flight. His work has appeared in Air Line Pilot, the Northern New England Review, True Pilot Stories, and other publications. He writes a birding column for The Rochester Times. Tom and his wife Lorie have two children and six grandchildren.
