About the author
Mary Winters has been writing poetry since 2004. She is a member of the Farmingdale Poetry Group, the Farmingdale Creative Writing Group, and the Long Island Writers' Guild. In 2005, she won Honorable Mention for her poem "Elegy of a Slave Girl" in the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society Poetry Contest. Mary was born and raised in New York and educated at Marymount Manhattan College and New York Institute of Technology where she graduated cum laude. Recent publications include Performance Poets Association Literary Review #26, writing In a Woman's Voice, and Fresh Words: An International Literary Magazine.
