Rachel was born August 4, 1986 to John and Sandy Hunnicutt at Harris Hospital in Ft. Worth. She married her prince, Shawn Knight, on September 19, 2009 with what one would describe as both a storybook courtship and wedding.
Rachel loved her husband. She also deeply loved her family and his, while sharing that love with everyone she came across. More than anything she loved her beautiful daughter, Alexis Leeann (Lexi) with all her heart and soul.
Rachel was an inspiration to so many people that knew her as well as those that had been keeping up with her continuing struggle with leukemia for the past ten years. Rachel was sent to us on a mission, her illness was only an obstacle. She conquered the illness just long enough to bring an angel to us (Lexi) and continued to win the fight, after going back into remission. Of all the world’s gifts that she gave her mother and father from birth, nothing could compare to the inspiration and power she has filled in so many hearts of everyone she has come in contact with. She is truly one of a kind. Though her untimely passing will leave incredible sadness, her legacy will carry on.
