Overview
Safety is just a word. After decades of social and technological conditioning, the evil has penetrated every corner of the globe and every hiding place. Few have resisted it. Their story, their battle, continues.
Description
The Claiming Destination Series continues in Book 3, "Isa". Although little Isabelle is now safe in the Alpha Base refuge and has bonded with rebellious young Dillon, the lingering effects of the mord virus causes many of her fellow residents to distrust her. Adding to the danger, United Earth Federation spies infiltrate Alpha in search of her for their own evil motivations. In the meantime, Coltan's health is in jeopardy when it becomes apparent the dogs that attacked him were diseased with a variation of the virus. Elsewhere in the valley, the mordants have trapped a small group of survivors on a rooftop. And in the destroyed UEF controlled city of Bonito Valle, Sergeant Cory Jones's superior officer assigns him the secret task of making his infected daughter "human again".
About the author
Colleen A. Parkinson is an award-winning playwright and novelist living in Redding, California. An avid supporter of fellow authors, her book reviews are available on Amazon, Good Reads, and her website https://thefinesthat.jimdo.com/. Her first novel, the award-winning "The Finest Hat in the Whole World", about a tempestuous abused child who goes to live with her uncle in 1917, was inspired by a mysterious discovery in her genealogical research. Her second novel, the Coming of Age Paranormal Mystery "Hell Is In Me" about a bitter and bullied teenage boy who can see the dead, came about through two inspirational sources: a musical composition by the great William Grant Still and her ruminations about what lies beyond this world. A health crisis combined with concerns about emerging global unrest and rapid technological advances in 2004 led her to create the first installment of her seven-book dystopian suspense series "Claiming Destination" that she completed in 2022. If anyone were to ask her how she feels these days, she would answer, "Exhausted." But writing is her therapy, and she is unlikely to abandon her craft anytime soon. Colleen believes in performing anonymous acts of kindness whenever the opportunity arises, giving back to her community, encouraging the discouraged, and always - always - paying it forward.
