Overview
When two people have the same dream, it has to be more than just a coincidence. And what if the things you saw in that dream, were not original thoughts, but instructions, left to follow by the Ancient Ones that came so long before us? Inspired by the H.P Lovecraft's mind-bending Cthulhu Mythos, a group of lifelong and new teenaged friends gamble their lives by infiltrating a long-abandoned psychiatric center, with its own fair share of haunted history. When they unsuspectingly come across an overwhelmingly gruesome ritual scene, some of them soon realize that it strangely connects with them more than the others know, and now no one can be trusted. Their journey quickly takes an unexpected turn as they are now being followed by a toying and malevolent force, with its own ancient and unsuspected history. With depleting hope and sanity, their comprehension of fear is pushed beyond their breaking points. They'll have to find a way out before either the building comes crumbling down upon them, or the relentless unimaginable crawls its way into their minds and slowly takes over. If they do not find a way out, their-, along with the fate of humanity, will meet their end…

About the author
In my first book; "Checkpoint," and my second book; "Indigo," I, like a band finding their style and sound, I strived to outdo myself in nearly every way with each new installment. "I Am Providence" to me, is finding my style, and it foreshadows a path of what is to come. My love for horror cinema, media, and art are endless and ever-growing. Now that I found the path in which my unique work best comes to life, I hope to see yourself grow alongside me. The inspiration for this short story comes from my love of Lovecraft's cosmic horror and of the very real abandoned Psychiatric Center in Kings Park NY. Researching and exploring this haunted location for years, I knew it was more than just a tourist attraction for paranormal investigators, and curious explorers. This long-abandoned facade had so much history and character, I felt it was more than appropriate for a story, larger than life, to take place in a forgotten building that ironically feels lost in time. Exploring the fear of the unknown has opened my mind further than I've ever thought possible. Combining this with the stories and characters of the Book of Genius, I was able to create something that is of my own, while still paying homage to my mentors, idols, and inspirations, furthering their works. I hope to one day be known beyond my death, like how I see my mentors and idols. This almost seeming like an impossible feat, I would be more than happy being that one author that inspired one person to think for themselves, making them see the world through a different lens, even if it contradicts their beliefs. Like my mentors and idols before me, unlocking the ability to fathom what lies beyond human comprehension, I strive to spark the hidden inspiration that lies in the dwindling few.
